What is the Temazcal?

Thetemazcalis an ancestral ceremony of Mesoamerican origin.

The word comes from Nahuatl“temazcalli”, which means“house of steam” (temaz = steam, calli = house).

It takes place inside a closed structure made of clay, where hot volcanic stones are placed. In tradition, these stones are called“Grandmothers”, because they represent ancient wisdom and the memory of the Earth (a special connection with OMA, which meansgrandmotherin Dutch). By pouring water with herbs over the stones, warm steam is generated that envelops the body.

This guided experience combines heat, breathing, and an intimate environment to create a space fordeep relaxation, connection, and well-being.

At OMA, the temazcal is experienced as a special encounter with nature, accompanied in a respectful and safe manner.
